Overview:
I, along with my wife, stayed at Nomikos Villas in Santorini for 3 nights in May 2015. If you’ve traveled to or are planning to travel to Santorini, you know how much effort it takes to choose the best area to stay in Santorini.
We spent a few days zeroing in on the area where we wanted to stay. If you’re going through the same planning, guide I put together about Where to Stay In Santorini may come in handy. We’d decided to stay in Fira or Firostefani. We chose Nomikos Villas in Firestefani after going through its great reviews.
What I loved about Nomikos Villas:
Great Staff: My experience with the staff of the Nomikos Villas has been simply great. They are prompt, friendly, and very welcoming. I was impressed with the staff even before getting there. I’d emailed reservations to arrange a pick-up at the airport. The response was prompt and the pick-up got arranged for Euro 9 per person.
When we arrived at the airport, our driver was waiting for us with my nameplate. Since cars couldn’t reach the footsteps of the hotel, our taxi dropped us a few meters away from it. I was surprised to see a person already waiting for us at the drop-off location to help us with our luggage. I highly recommend arranging a pickup, otherwise, it could be an issue finding the hotel with heavy bags in the narrow streets of Firostefani.
When we arrived at the hotel, Nicoletta greeted us very warmly. She served us complimentary orange juice. Since we arrived there early in the morning, around 8 a.m., we were prepared to wait till the check-in time. However, it came as a pleasant surprise when Nicoletta told us that our wait wouldn’t be too long and our room would be ready way before the official check-in time.
We were offered room number 14 upstairs. The room itself was big enough for 2 people, had a lofted bedroom and came with a refrigerator.

Awesome service: Every night hotel staff would ask us to fill a form for what we would like in breakfast the next morning and at what time. Next morning, breakfast would get served on our patio, sharp on time and warm. Warm breakfast of your choice, bang on time with amazing views of caldera; it can’t get any better than this.
We were also very impressed by the services of Hercules who worked in the hotel bar. He went out of his way to help us out.

Convenient Location: Nomikos Villas is in Firostefani which is just a short walk away from the town of Fira. The footpaths between the two towns are paved, and there are numerous hotels, restaurants and bars along the way. Nomikos Villas is very conveniently located in Firostefani.
There is a grocery store just a couple of minutes walk away which we used a lot for stocking up booze, water and snacks. The bus stop is also located just a few meters away from the hotel which came very handy while catching bus to the town of Oia. There are some nice and romantic restaurants too nearby.

Spectacular Views: Nomikos Villas overlooks the Caldera. The sunset is simply breathtaking.

What I didn’t like much about Nomikos Villas:
We stayed in room number 14 which was located upstairs and had a lofted bedroom. The loft’s ceiling height was so low that we banged our heads multiple times. Also, there was a wooden ladder to get to the ceiling. We being in our 20’s didn’t have any issues while using the ladder, but it can be an issue for elderly people. Wifi signals were super weak in our room. In order to use the Wifi, we had to come downstairs every time.
Verdict:
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Nomikos Villas. The room was immaculately clean, the location was super convenient, the views were simply spectacular and the staff was just unbelievable. The only thing I’d like to change next time I visit Nomikos Villas is the room type.
